When kids begin to get their teeth it can be a difficult time for both parents and the baby!

Recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has received reports of serious injuries to children and infants caused by bracelets and necklaces marketed to families as methods to relieve teething pain.

Unfortunately, these products have caused chocking and strangulation in some children. Teething jewelry can be made of a variety of materials including wood, marble, silicone and amber.

The FDA does not recommend using over-the-counter Benzocaine to sooth teething pain in children under 2 years old. When looking for a teething device look for something that is made of solid rubber.
